Serbia National Day celebrated at EXPO 2016

One of the official participants of EXPO 2016 Antalya, Serbia celebrated its National Day during EXPO.


Serbia’s Ambassador to Turkey Danilo Vucetic came to Antalya for the occasion. Ambassador and his delegation were welcomed by Secretary General of EXPO 2016 Antalya Agency Fırat Işık and General Commissioner Ambassador Erdoğan Kök. After welcoming ceremony, Ambassador Vucetic signed EXPO guestbook. Following gift exchange and photo shoot, delegation went on to join cocktail party at Serbia Garden.


Serbia’s National Day celebrations continued at Little Amphitheatre. After singing of national anthems, Serbian Ambassador made the opening speech. Ambassador Vucetic thanked Turkey for inviting Serbia to EXPO 2016 organization. He noted that these type of organizations contributed to meeting of people, cultures and traditions and nurturing better relations between countries.     


Ambassador Vucetic indicated that they would leave Serbia Garden to EXPO 2016 Antalya Agency. He said: “Thus, Serbia will leave its mark here in this beautiful city and in Turkey. I am sure this garden will stay here for a long time as the symbol of close ties and cooperation between our countries.”

After his speech, Ambassador gave the key of Serbia Garden to General Commissioner of the EXPO 2016 Antalya Agency, Ambassador Kök.


Ambassador Kök expressed their gratitude to celebrate Serbia’s National Day in EXPO 2016 Antalya. He said he believed Serbia’s participation to EXPO 2016 will further improve deep rooted relations between two countries. He tanked his Serbian counterpart and delegation for their efforts.

After speeches, Bilja Kristic and Bistrik Orchestra took the stage to amp up the audience with melodies of the Balkans.

EXPO 2016 Antalya’s landmark Turkcell EXPO Tower was illuminated with colours of Serbian flag in honour of Serbian national Day.
