Leather works and art exhibitions at EXPO 2016

EXPO 2016 offers visitors more than botany. Bunch of art exhibitions, İbrahim Atalar’s leather works and Turhan Ekici and İclal Dağlı’s oil paintings were also on the stands lately.

Leather craftsman İbrahim Atalar continues ancestors’ craft which is about to vanish today. His leather works were displayed in the main lounge of EXPO 2016 Antalya Congress Centre. Atalar noted that Turks living in Central Asia were the first to exercise leather tanning. “This is one true Turkish craft. The leather that we use at cauterization is produced from cattle, sheep, goat, camel and buffalo skin and totally hand-made”, he said.

İbrahim Atalar’s exhibition will be open until September 3.

EXPO 2016 Antalya’s another exhibition was a duo’s. Artist Turhan Ekici and his disciple İclal Dağlı were displaying 30 oil paintings in an exhibition called “Art from Hand to Hand” at Art and Exhibition Hall. The exhibition can be seen until August 25.
